Frontier Experience 4
Carlisle; Carlisle Castle; Carlisle Cathedral.
Carlisle is a thriving regional city with contemporary shopping, art and culture as well as a firm footing in the past. Formidable Carlisle Castle has ‘hosted’ prisoners such as Mary Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite rebels, and the medieval Cathedral has been in daily use for 900 years.
Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail edges the city and there are other easy city walks. There’s parking in the city centre plus parking for the disabled at both the Castle and the Cathedral. Within the Castle, the interior courtyard is fully accessible while the interior is not; the Cathedral is fully accessible.
