Landscape Partnership

Hadrian's Wall Country Landscape Partnership

Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd is in the process of developing a Landscape Partnership within the area of Hadrian’s Wall Country (HWC).  We aim to bring together a wide range of organisations and interest groups to create and share a common vision on the value of our landscape including its heritage, ecology, economy and diversity throughout Hadrian’s Wall Country.

Landscape Partnerships may be supported by a grant of up to £2 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop the vision of the partnership whilst addressing the following goals:

A - Conserve and restore natural and built features.
B - Encourage a wide range of people to take part in their local landscape heritage.
C - Increase opportunities to access and learn about the landscape and its heritage.
D - Provide training opportunities for people in local heritage skills.

The Heritage Lottery Fund provides guidance on Landscape Partnerships, which can be found on their Landscape Partnerships website.

Through the HWC Landscape Partnership we will work together to celebrate, enhance and provide greater enjoyment and understanding of the landscape for local people and visitors like.  Although the initial area for the Landscape Partnership will be expected to focus on an area of up to 200 km2, the benefits will extend throughout the region.

Interested organisations are invited to register interest and propose projects that support the vision of the Landscape Partnership via an online survey.  Projects will be assessed on the basis of the information provided and those with the best fit will be included in the Landscape Partnership bid once the steering group has agreed the geographic focus area.

The online survey is available at:
